Nurturing Confidence and Creativity Through Art : A Journey of Self-Discovery

Image
‘’The artist is not a special kind of person; rather, each person is a special kind of artist.’’— Ananda Coomaraswamy My life's journey was entwined with the vibrant hues of painting from the young age of three. I discovered comfort in the rhythm of my voice and the brushstrokes of a paintbrush while attending a cultural school. The basis of a lifelong association with art as a way of stress reduction and self-discovery was laid throughout those formative years. The classroom became my haven, where I would spend hours every day singing and creating, seemingly forgetting about the rigors of growing up. I had no idea that this exposure to art would usher in a life-changing voyage . At the age of four, I was granted an opportunity that would forever alter my perception of self. A performance on Rabindra Sarobar's stage exposed me to an audience of hundreds. Art has not only become a haven for me, but also a means for me to express my emotions and thoughts to the rest of the world.

A New World

Image
The night hung heavy, like a storm ready to burst. The street lay quiet and dark as if the world itself had fallen asleep. In this eerie calm, a van sat in the shadows, its windows blacked out. Inside, Murdock Jensen, a man lost to his own madness, sang a sorrowful tune to himself. He stared at an old, gloomy building, his eyes filled with a desperate longing to make his dreams come true. Rain poured down, making the night even darker. Murdock stepped out of the van and walked to a puddle near the building. His reflection stared back at him – a sad, pale man with blue eyes that spoke of deep sadness. His hair was no longer bright, and his face was rough with stubble. "This is it," he muttered, his voice barely a whisper. He crept back to the van, his heart pounding. Rain fell harder, adding to the tension in the air. The door of the old building groaned open, and a small figure emerged into the dim light. It was a girl with blonde hair, delicate and fragile. Murdock lunged at

The Bad Side of Television

Image
TV shows need to stop renewing seasons. I don’t mean to say that we should stick to one season stories, instead writers, directors and producers should stick with their original plan. Every time I hear that a shows been renewed due to popular demand a shiver runs down my spine. More often than not this means more filler content is coming out, and it ensures an unsatisfying ending. These strong feelings of renewal were instilled within me by Grey’s Anatomy, The Black List, and Criminal Minds. At some point it is time to call it quits, there is nothing of substance going on in these shows. It’s not so bad that it’s good, it’s just dreadfully boring. Another crime of television was Game of Thrones. The story started off one way and ended up in another planet. HBO wanted to add more seasons and the writers said no, they just wanted to move on to their next project but for some reason refused to hand it over to someone else. Why would every single character survive a war against the undea

I would regularly play cricket and sometimes football in the tiffin period and after the school was over with my school friends. I would also go play in the fields near my home in the afternoon with my friends in the neighborhood. It was a regular routine of my life. And i really enjoyed it. Infact most of the children would.  Dhaka Residential Model College  This went on for about 2 years. Until one-day in 2015, i was playing cricket in the f

BLOG-2 (My first stage performance)

BLOG-2   My first stage performance   We all know that a hobby is something that one person does in their pastime. Singing was my hobby at the time but as time changes, I do not practice it like before. It's been 3 years since I finished my singing course. During my course time, in 2018 I got the chance to participate in a stage in Bangladesh Shishu Academy which was my first stage performance. It was a group performance and we performed a folk song by Lalon Shah.  I reached there at 3 pm with a "Baul" getup and  was very excited and nervous at the same time as it was my first stage performance where a lot of people were in front of the stage. The show started at 3:30 pm. A lot of participants were there who performed many activities like singing, dancing, poem reciting etc. Our turn came after that and I was super frightened. My hands were cold and I was shivering in fear. Luckily it went well. I was so happy after the performance and all my fears were gone. At the

BROKEN WING

June 12, 2023 And then the dreams break into trillion tint pieces. The dream dies. Which leaves you with a choice - you can settle for reality or you can dream another dream.  Let me share my story. I dreamt of being a doctor. The white aprons were my inspiration. I always tamed a dream to wear this WHITE APRON WITH A STETHOSCOPE. Whoever used to ask me, "what do you want to be?" The answer would be, "A doctor or a surgeon." Obtaining the highest mark in bio, researching on various topics became an intoxication. Prefixing "Doctor" behind my name and getting called by family and friends attached wings to my dreams. March 10, 2023, 10:00 am: The MBBS exam hall, Dhaka University, Faculty of Social Sciences. The battlefield - the field through which my green flag will be hoisted. The confidence I took with me inside the hall, buried 300 ft under just the moment I got my question paper.  Since then everything has scattered all round. Everything seems lifeless.

MY FIRST VISIT TO THE ZOO

Image
I can never forget the day when I first visited the Bangladesh national zoo in Mirpur. The sun was shining brightly, the sky was a vivid blue canvas, and I was dying from excitement. The promise of encountering exotic animals, lush greenery, and learning about the wonders of the animal kingdom made my heart race with anticipation. I felt a wave of wonder as I entered the zoo gates.A mix of sounds filled the air - the distant roars of tiger, the playful chirping of birds, and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. It was as if I entered a world that only exists in books and TV.  I first went in front of the bird cage. There are many kinds of birds. They were busy making small processions, and I was amazed to see so many different types and colours of bird s together. I was most surprised to see the bird called ostrich. I had no idea that the bird could be so big. After that, a little bit ahead, I saw a crowd of people. As we got closer we saw a tiger cage. I have seen many tigers i

MY COMFORT ZONE

Image
I had to put so much thought on this topic since the day sir assigned us to write the blog. I thought for days about what I like to do. As a lazy person I don't do much in my daily life despite of laying on my bed and going through my social media accounts. But today I actually found something I like. While growing up I tried to find comfort in people. But every time after they left, I fell out of my comfort zone. Then I decided to stop relying on people for comfort. Somehow I started finding comfort in food. I eat whenever I am sad, I eat whenever I am stressed out and surprisingly this eating habit never betrayed me. It made me fat though. But now I am fat and happy.   My mother and my grandma, these two wonderful ladies are the best cook I know. My mother never says no to anything I tell her to make me because she knows how happy food makes me. I love when she makes me polao-korma . My grandma is very old to do anything but she knows I love when she makes achar and mangobar. Sh

MUSE

I occasionally get a sense of overwhelming amazement while viewing a truly remarkable work of art, both for the creative act itself and the technical skill required to make it possible. I've frequently experienced such moments when I've thought, "Wow. How did all of this happen? What served as the piece's inspiration? And the topic of muses comes up invariably whenever inspiration for the arts is discussed. I'm not talking about how painting was presumably invented, though the story of its genesis is fascinating in and of itself. wherein our ancestors painted their cave walls directly with color applied using their palms. This one is far more fantastical; according to a myth made up by the Roman author, who was widely read by older people in the first century, a Corinthian woman painted the very first portrait of a person ever in 600 BC. She was in love with her soldier boyfriend, who was leaving the town the next day, and was sometimes referred to as "Cora&

What started out as a run for fame ended up being a form of therapy

"What started out as a run for fame ended up being a form of therapy" A Childish beginning I still remember that day during my 6 th grade when some of my friends began arm wrestling each other. And like every other kid I also went in to prove what a strong guy I was, but naturally as someone who never worked out, I lost badly.   However, this small loss was what lit a spark in me to start working out to get stronger and no matter how childish this reason was, to this very day I am glad that I came back home and watched a YouTube video on beginner workouts as it honestly changed my life. My perception People often ask me why I work out and spend so much time draining myself like this. Well, Over the years, my perception of working out has changed fundamentally. It's not something one would do just for looks, sport or even physical well-being; it has so much more to it. It supports someone in such crucial ways that the few hours spent regularly seem ent
