MY FIRST VISIT TO THE ZOO

I can never forget the day when I first visited the Bangladesh national zoo in Mirpur. The sun was shining brightly, the sky was a vivid blue canvas, and I was dying from excitement. The promise of encountering exotic animals, lush greenery, and learning about the wonders of the animal kingdom made my heart race with anticipation.

I felt a wave of wonder as I entered the zoo gates.A mix of sounds filled the air - the distant roars of tiger, the playful chirping of birds, and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. It was as if I entered a world that only exists in books and TV.

I first went in front of the bird cage. There are many kinds of birds. They were busy making small processions, and I was amazed to see so many different types and colours of bird

s together. I was most surprised to see the bird called ostrich. I had no idea that the bird could be so big. After that, a little bit ahead, I saw a crowd of people. As we got closer we saw a tiger cage. I have seen many tigers in TV programs and books but never seen them in real life. So I ran to the front to see. But as I stood in front of the cage, the male tiger roared. It seemed to me that my soul was about to disappear from within me. My father understood and picked me up and my inner fear slowly disappeared.

I was most surprised to see elephants and giraffes. I saw them on TV. But they look very small on TV. From the front, it looks like an animal from another world. There was a system of grazing on the backs of elephants. My father grazed me on the back of an elephant. The graze on my elephant's back was a little scary. But after a while the fear disappeared. Then there is a little free space but fencing. I did not understand what it was for. But my father showed me something with his hand.I noticed that some deer were sitting under the tree. They are not as beautiful as they look on the pages of a book, but they are much more beautiful to see face to face. It cannot be explained that they are so attractive because of the white round spots between the tan and brown colours on their skin.

At the end we went to see rhinos and hippos. The horns of the rhinoceros look terrifyingly beautiful. Again and again I just think what will happen if someone is hit with this horn. My father said that their skin is much thicker than other animals for their protection. It took the most time to see the hippos. Hippopotamus does not want to rise from under the water. After standing for about 10/15 minutes, a hippopotamus raised its head above the water. After a while it slowly came up to the shore and started eating the food provided there.Seeing the eating of the hippopotamus, I felt that lunch had not been eaten. From there I went to the food hotel. After having lunch, I bought some toys, peacock feathers and some books from outside the zoo and left for home.

Visiting the zoo was one of the most thrilling experiences of my life. All the strange animals I saw will be etched in my brain forever. After coming back from the zoo I started to feel a different attraction towards the environment and the animals. I realised that even for our own survival, the importance of the animal world is immense. So we should not do anything that harms this fauna and save the endangered species as soon as possible
